Quiet Surrender
Project Overview
Accepting of their fate, this neglectful character moves through decay with numb indifference. Out of place, their neutral expression and haunting stillness are emphasizing the disconnection from both self and environment
Workflow
The project began with the creation and development of an original character, which became the starting point for the garment design. I then translated the character’s visual identity into the form, silhouette, materials, and details of the garment.
Once the design was established, I developed the pattern and constructed the garment by hand, bringing the initial concept into a physical form. The pieces were then sewn together and finished to create the final look.
The completed garment was documented through photography, using both analogue and film photography to explore different textures, atmospheres, and visual interpretations of the character and the finished piece.
